The cozy walls of a quiet laboratory at last. A place where Abu-Bakir could always rest after his most exhausting adventures. And this was precisely one of those. The magical powers of the court magician had not yet fully recovered from the fierce battle at the portal. But now, he could just sit down and relax with a cup of hot tea while compiling a report on the results of the finished experiment. Right after getting an answer to the curious question that was haunting his mind all the way back.

After ensuring that the front door was securely locked and the windows were curtained, Abu-Bakir approached his desk and carefully pulled out of his bag a time crystal with a captured shadow within. Its facets seemed to darken even more than before. They no longer reflected the light, but rather absorbed it. And on the surface of one of them, the wizard's eye suddenly caught a fragment of the distant past. The encounter of the dreamreaver he already knew and the mysterious shadow shaman, whose face was hidden by a black hood. It was as if someone was watching them. Apparently, it was the same shadow that was now entrapped within the crystal. It was closely watching and eavesdropping on their conversation.
"So it was you the khan was talking about?" asked the dreamreaver with a tone of disbelief and even a certain disappointment. "I was expecting more... But as long as he trusts you, I wouldn't dare doubt his wisdom. What is it you want?"
"A wise advice from a dream reader," replied the shadow shaman in a calm and deep voice. "I've had a vision of things to come. A prophetic dream."
"And what did the spirits reveal to you?" the elder suddenly displayed a discreet interest .
"Not the spirits," objected the interlocutor, "the shadows. They revealed to me the great future of your tribe. And the deadly threat that awaits it," he took a brief pause, observing the dreamreaver’s reaction as his curiosity was being replaced with anticipation, and then continued again, "I would like to get back into it, and demonstrate to you personally."
"I hope you know what you are putting at stake?" the old orc asked as if with a covert threat in his voice, skewering his eye at his interlocutor through the slits of his ritual mask. "Not all return from such journeys."
"I know, elder," confidently answered the shadow shaman. "Begin the ritual."
The vision abruptly stopped — and Abu-Bakir instantly plunged into thoughts. The vision clarified a few things, but not all of them. The shadow shaman's motives were still obscure. Although his irony was worthy of note. To ensnare the dreamreaver in his own dream. The court magician realized all at once that he felt a certain admiration for this idea — and he immediately moved his head, shaking away the imposing shadow that was creeping into his mind. It appeared that even in the time crystal captivity, this dark entity was still able to have an impact on the world around it. Lords and Ladies! Abu-Bakir's magic dispersed, erasing all signs of presence of the barbarians of the unruly tribes that he had summoned.
